Harimaya Bridge
A Symbol of Kochi
Approx. 5 minutes on foot from central Kochi City
During the feudal era, wealthy merchants built a private bridge over a moat separating their residences. This bridge later became known as Harimaya Bridge. Originally, it was a simple wooden structure.
Sunday Market
A Street Market with Over 300 Years of History
The historic street markets of Kochi date back to 1690. Markets are held throughout the city depending on the day of the week, with the most famous being the Sunday Market along Otesuji Street.

Kochi Castle
“The Finest Castle in the Southern Sea Route”
Although the exterior appears to have four or five levels, the interior consists of six floors. The white castle tower features a watchtower-style balcony at the top. Unusually, the castle retains its original palace (Kaitokukan), including reception rooms and living quarters, offering insight into the lifestyle of feudal lords.
Katsurahama Beach
Magnificent Pacific Views with Ryoma
Famous for its moonlit scenery, Katsurahama Beach stretches in a graceful arc between Ryuto Cape and Ryuo Cape. A statue of Sakamoto Ryoma stands at Ryuto Cape, attracting visitors from across Japan. The Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum is also located on the nearby hill.
